President Dwight Eisenhower's "Atoms for Peace" program of the 1950s used the research that created the atomic bomb to lay the foundation of the civilian nuclear energy industry. This 1955 film highlights the Experimental Breeder Reactor in Idaho, where the first useable electricity from nuclear power was generated in 1951. Today, the EBR is a museum open to the public.
