Keeping the Hot Side Hot
Can heat be converted into electricity? David Mather of MTVP Corp. explains that his company can make a silicon chip that converts heat that would normally be wasted into useful power.
The chip can absorb as small amount of heat as it takes to boil water. The photons go to a photovoltaic cell, which creates electricity. A six-inch square device can produce about 300 watts, and four of the deviceas can produce enough electricity to power a small home.
