Amanda Little

Amanda Little is the author of Power Trip: The Story of America's Love Affair with Energy. She has published widely on the environment, energy and technology for more than a decade. She wrote “Muckraker,” a long-running syndicated weekly column on Grist.org and Salon.com, and “Code Green,” a monthly column on green innovations for Outsidemagazine, where she was a contributing editor. Her work has appeared in the New York Times Magazine, Vanity Fair, Rolling Stone, Wired, New York, InStyle, Men’s Journal and the Washington Post. She is the recipient of the Jane Bagley Lehman Award for excellence in environmental journalism.

Little has been working in online media since 1996, when she was the first employee of the first online magazine, Feedmag.com. Thereafter she wrote a column for The Village Voice, "Urban Upgrade," which examined technological innovations in New York City's institutions and infrastructure. She has published interviews with public figures ranging from Barack Obama and Al Gore to John McCain and Rupert Murdoch. Little has appeared on MSNBC, Fox News, National Public Radio, and has delivered keynotes for audiences including the Garden Club of America, the Clean-Tech Investor Summit, Bowdoin College, and the Tennessee State Government. She lives in Nashville, Tennessee with her husband Carter Little, a composer, and their daughter.
